Dad

...is okay. Went to the ER last night with some major chest pains. It was pretty intense. The pain would increase and decrease in waves, and at one point, he could hardly talk. No heart attack, thank the Lord, but a really bad reaction to neupogen shots. He is doing a little better now.

I felt as if God was testing me yesterday to see whether I would freak out when my mom called and told me that my dad was in the ER. I did not freak out. I had to humbly beg God to help me not to wig out, as "wigging out" is often my natural state. God brought to my mind all kinds of Scripture. He is good!

"Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!" (Mark 4:38-41)
