Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

With each year I "collect", place I travel to or reside, person I meet, the more I love change! It is wonderful and awful; terrifying and electrifying. I thrive on change. That's to my benefit as change is inevitable. It is the only thing certain in life, besides death and taxes (and Christ :) so we may as well come to love it, or at least accept it. Resisting change is like catching a bubble in your hand and trying to prevent it from popping. I predict lots of changes in the next year. Here's hoping...
Ps. 102:25-27
In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
