Maghreb literally means "place of sunset" or "western" in Arabic. The North African region encompassing Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya is generally referred to as "the Maghreb". Occasionally Mauritania and Western Sahara are included as well. The term is also specifically applied to Morocco, as the formal name of the country is "al-Maghreb" (or "al-Maghrib")
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the LORD is to be praised!
The LORD is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens! (Ps. 113:3-4)
