Glory of glories! It is possible to create a pumpkin pie entirely from scratch in Egypt. The Egyptian pumpkin may have tasted a bit gamier, the crust may have crumbled a little, and the cloves I attempted to grind myself were a big disaster...but all was forgotten when that little beauty emerged from the oven.

Awww, we're REALLY gonna miss your amazing pies this Thanksgiving!!! (Egypt is so lucky.) It looks like the responsibilities this year will fall on Mom, which is really a shame for all of us.
