Pedestrian Rights in Cairo
Rights? Actually, pedestrians don't have any. This video is fairly tame compared to my daily experience of street crossings. The video cites a current statistic of 20 pedestrian deaths per day in Cairo. Wow, I didn't realize it was that high. I was actually hit by a car the first week or so I was in Cairo...did I ever tell that story on here? It was a good one.

If anything, the CNN report is tamer than the actual. They didn't show enough of the people trying to cross multi-lane freeways while the cars were going 70 mph. It is a scary endeavour (British spelling).
Similar to my summer country - my technique is to find some youngish person who seems very alert and stick close to them, especially in the round-abouts. :)
