SKYPE: for planning a wedding from 7,000 miles away, chatting with friends and family the world over, a phone call in a pinch when I've run out of phone credit and am too agoraphobic to buy more credit, calling my bank from India so they will unfreeze my credit card and I can settle my hotel bill, or if I simply want to avoid some creepy Egyptian man potentially having access to my cell phone number. Tonight I am even getting a piano lesson from my mom via SKYPE. I can't imagine life abroad with out it!
