Guess who's 25 today?!!?? In honor of this momentous occasion, I am posting a tribute! Mitzi is my best friend, but really, she's more like family!!
I met Mitzi 5 years ago during college while we were both trying to survive Organic II, Biochem, and MNT. A few years later, we ended up in the same graduate school program. What a blessing that has been! Only the Lord knew that I would have completely lost my sanity otherwise. We have had some fairly hilarious moments: from road trips, all nighters for school projects, sleeping in tents, sleeping in cars, sleeping under desks at Methodist, to enduring a certain grad school professor "in terms of" her annoying quirks.
Because our personalities are like night and day sometimes, we have also had our share of tense moments and arguments. If I ever get married, my husband will have to thank Mitzi profusely for all of the invaluable lessons and practical experience I have gained in resolving conflict, not sweating the small stuff, asking for forgiveness, being honest- but not "too honest", shutting my mouth, saying "I'm sorry", speaking my mind lovingly, laughing at myself. She has helped me to become a more gentle, thoughtful, in-love-with-the-Lord person.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MITZI!!!
Things I appreciate most about Mitzi:
1) She is one of the most hard-working, persevering people I know. Definitely task-oriented, she pours herself into her work no matter how large or small the job. She will labor long hours just to make sure something is done the right way.
2) She always thinks the best of others. She is quick to extend mercy to others, willing to help and giving others the benefit of the doubt.
3) She has an incredible passion for missions! She came back from India even more fired up about long-term mission work in public health.
4) She is teachable. So humble, transparent, and soft-hearted to the ways God is trying to change her.
5) She is the genuine article!! Down-to-earth, goofy, frank, and fun. We always have the time of our lives no matter what we're doing!!
