Parlez-vous français ?

Je parle un peut. My much anticipated French classes began today. I've been counting down the days...I am that excited! I have been so amped that- for the past month- I have been reading La Bible and listening to cheesy Celine Dion songs in French (my guilty pleasure).

This is not my first exposure to French; I took two years of the language in high school. However, in more recent years, my Spanish studies displaced the French. I had forgotten how much I adore the language until my Moroccan living experience this summer. I love how French sounds and the way it rolls off of my lips. C'est bon.

My teacher is an older Parisian lady, so adorable in the way she corrects us and very feisty in a distinctly French way. She loves me already because I would like to move to a French-speaking country soon. I have classes twice a week with lots of homework in between, however I am relishing all of the work! Not that I have time for a new endeavor, but if not now, when?! After all, there is no time like the present...

You wrote that "She loves me already because I would like to move to a French-speaking country soon."

Do you mean like Louisiana?

HA! That's funny! In more ways than one...
(I hear Louisiana has some really nice folk.)
=P

Here's a Bible quote - I dunno how good of a translation it is).

"Que le Dieu de paix, qui a ramené d'entre les morts le grand pasteur des brebis, par le sang d'une alliance éternelle, notre Seigneur Jésus, vous rende capables de toute bonne oeuvre pour l'accomplissement de sa volonté, et fasse en vous ce qui lui est agréable, par Jésus Christ, auquel soit la gloire aux siècles des siècles! Amen!"
