Girl Friends

Sometimes I downplay the value of girl friends. I am naturally bent toward stereotypically male topics such as sports, history, trivia, world affairs, and adventures. I usually get along better with guys and generally enjoy their company more thoroughly. I admire the calm, rational manner with which many males (at least the important ones in my life) approach life.

On the other hand, large groups of women annoy me. I don't understand the emotionally frenzied nature of female groups. I feel overwhelmed at times. I don't understand crying and shrieking (Andrea will back me up on this one), and I absolutely despise shopping. For all these silly reasons and more, I don't value girl friendships as I should. For pete's sake, I AM a woman. What is wrong with me?!

The fact remains, girls need girls. The article encourages women to forge meaningful relationships with other women. The author suggests five friends every women needs as the intercessor, the encourager, the celebrator, the teacher and the questioner.

Which one of these five are you most like? I suspect I am the questioner. Naturally curious, I am oft prone to investigations and interrogations :)

Just a little food for thought, ladies!
