The minaret of the Koutoubia was used as the pattern for the minaret of Sevilla's Giralda, which in turn inspired the design of thousands of churches in Spain, Eastern Europe (eg: churches of Moscow's Red Square), and even the U.S. (eg: Manhattan Municipal Building).
