I am thoroughly enjoying the novel sights, sounds, eats and smells (well, not all of them) in my new Egyptian hometown. In a mere 2 weeks, I have feasted on the bountiful harvest at the Magic Alley behind our home, short-changed a cab driver and darted into the subway to avoid his wrath, been hit by a car (!!), sailed down the Nile, been stalked down a dark street by a waiter who forgot to charge me for a WIFI card, strolled through the lovely Al-Azhar park during the call to prayer, flooded a cafe bathroom because what I believed to be the flusher was actually the bidet switch, and survived a classroom of crazy children on Ramadan day 1. A very full two weeks, indeed. More to come.

Aunt Kay
hi! can you please tell my sister to write me or at least update like you have? Yes, I have resorted to seeking out her friends blogs to find out what is going on in her life. I'm the youngest one that she never talks about. hope you two are having a really good time, loving your new place and new job!!
Well, I'm relieved to know you're still alive. We were having doubts:)
Does this mean you have internet? We miss you so much and hope you will call or skype soon!
Hey Em! Glad to hear you're having tons of new adventures! We miss you!
Yay for the update - it's good to hear more news. Sounds like a full 2 weeks indeed!
The sights, smells, sounds and eats is OK with me. Try to cut down on the stalkers and confronters, please!!!
