Brussels Mussels

SUMMARY OF BRUSSELS: Gluttony
1. Early AM train
2. waffles
3. Grand-Place
4. mussels, frites, Kriek beer, another waffle
5. shivering off all of the calories i had previously consumed
6. shopping for boots
7. shopping for chocolate
8. frostbite
9. the richest hot chocolate of my life
10. elbowing my way through a formidable crowd gathered for a Christmas concert in the Grand-Place
11. the last waffle
12. hypothermic shock on the way back to the train

I adore Brussels! The Belgians seem happier than the Dutch, Brussels is quite ethnically diverse, and the food is A+++++++++++++++. It's probably in the best interest of my waistline that we only spent 12 hours there. The day was bitterly cold (25 degrees, felt like 16) which would have been miserable if not for the fantastic shopping and eating. We enjoyed long, drawn out gastronomical escapades in the warmth of various cafes, restaurants, and kiosks. I will definitely plan another binge visit to Belgium!

The mussels sound great. You know how I love mollusks! And the waffles sound even better. Coincidentally, Luke drank a Lindeman's Limbic Kriek this evening.

Sounds like you packed as much as possible into a quick trip :)
