Obamarama= no school tomorrow + house arrest

I'm not about to complain, though :)

In typical Egypt fashion, school was canceled within the last 5 minutes of the day, with administrators running around heralding from classroom to classroom like town criers. The pre-K class was already lined up outside the school buses waiting for dismissal; they had to be walked back into the school building so notes could be written and sent home with the kids. Out in the hallways, kids were hollering and rejoicing in the impending cancellation. It was a wild, chaotic scene. Standard.

I live in the Masr el-Gadida district referred to in this article.

Wow. We're hoping for closings due to swine flu, excuse me, H1N1! You have to love life in third-world countries!

Note to daughter: Don't try to go running on Thursday. Not a good day for that! And don't look out the window; security might shoot you!!
