View from a kasbah near Ait Benhaddou. A kasbah is a unique, Islamic walled fortress, usually built on a high hill. It was the place for the local leader to reside and a defense against foreign siege. Reminds me of Jericho in the Bible. Morocco is oft referred to as the "land of a thousand kasbahs".
